About This Product

Sorghum, or jowar, has been eaten across Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu for centuries, mostly as flatbread. This idli mix adapts jowar into a soft, fluffy idli format that needs no prior soaking or grinding. The mix is made from jowar flour, urad dal flour, and a measured amount of rice flour blended in a clean, controlled ratio. No baking soda, no artificial leavening agent, and no preservative are used. The fermentation is triggered naturally. Sourced from rain-fed jowar farms in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. Simply add water, rest, and steam. The idlis turn out soft, slightly grainy in texture, and have a mild, clean taste.

Farming Method

Rain-fed jowar sourced from black cotton and red soil farms in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. No synthetic fertilisers. One of India's most drought-tolerant grain crops. Traditional crop rotation with pulses.

Processing Method

Jowar grain cleaned → sun-dried → milled to fine flour → blended with urad dal flour and rice flour in set ratio → packed in moisture-sealed bags → batch dated and labelled.

Storage Advice
