About This Product

Foxtail millet has been cultivated on the Deccan Plateau for thousands of years. Farmers in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh grow it using rain-fed methods on naturally enriched red soil, rotating it with legumes to maintain soil health. At harvest, foxtail heads are cut when they fully droop with ripeness. The grain is sun-dried for four to six days, then stone de-husked and milled into a fine flour. This flour is pressed into thin vermicelli strands and slow-dried. No maida is blended in. The strands have a clean, pale golden color and a light bite when cooked.

How It's Grown & Processed

Farming Method

Rain-fed dryland farming on enriched red soil. Crop rotation with legumes. No synthetic fertilisers. Harvested when foxtail heads droop fully with ripeness.

Processing Method

Grain cleaned → sun-dried 4–6 days → stone de-husked → milled to flour → water mixed → pressed into thin vermicelli strands → slow-dried → graded and packed.
