About This Product

Finger millet has been grown in areas like Madhya Pradesh,Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh for over four thousand years on red laterite rain-fed soil. Farmers here harvest the grain by hand when the tips are fully mature and dark. The grain is then sun-dried for four to six days on raised mud platforms before stone-milling into fine flour. This flour is mixed with water and pressed through a traditional sevai press to form thin vermicelli strands, which are then slow-dried at a low temperature. No maida, no preservative, and no artificial coloring are used at any stage. The result is a firm, naturally dark-colored vermicelli.

Farming Method

Rain-fed farming on red laterite soil in South India. No synthetic fertilizers.Hand-harvested at peak maturity. Traditional crop grown for over 4,000 years without irrigation dependency.

Processing Method

Grain cleaned → sun-dried for 4–6 days on raised platforms → stone-milled into fine flour → water mixed → pressed through sevai press → strands slow-dried at low temperature → hand-checked and packed.
