About This Product

Little millet, known as samai in Tamil Nadu and gutki in Hindi, is one of the oldest cultivated grains in India. Farmers in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Chhattisgarh grow it on naturally enriched rain-fed soil using traditional methods. After harvest, the grain is sun-dried and stone-milled into a fine, light-coloured flour. This flour is shaped into macaroni without any refined flour or binding agents. It cooks light and does not feel heavy after eating. Low in calories and gentle on the digestive system, it is a good everyday pasta option for families and health-focused food brands.

How It's Grown & Processed

Farming Method

Traditional rain-fed cultivation on naturally enriched soil. Farmers harvest by hand when grain is fully mature. Grown as a secondary crop in rotation with pulses.

Processing Method

Grain harvested and cleaned → sun-dried 4–5 days → stone-milled into fine flour → water mixed → extruded into macaroni → slow-dried at low temperature → graded and packed.
