About This Product

Finger millet, called ragi, has been grown in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka on rain-fed red laterite soil for over four thousand years without irrigation. It is one of the most calcium-dense plant foods available anywhere. After harvest, the grain is sun-dried for four to six days on raised platforms, then stone-milled and roller-flaked to produce thin, dark reddish-brown flakes similar in shape to regular rice poha. No frying, no oil, and no artificial color are used. Ragi flakes are used as a quick-cook breakfast grain,  a direct substitute for white rice poha, and are widely used in kids' nutrition products and calcium-focused health formulations.

How It's Grown & Processed

Farming Method

Rain-fed farming on red laterite soil in South India. No synthetic fertilisers. No irrigation dependency. Hand-harvested at full maturity. Traditional cultivation cycle unchanged for over 4,000 years.

Processing Method

Grain cleaned → sun-dried 4–6 days on raised platforms → stone-milled lightly → roller-flaked to consistent thin poha-style flakes → dried to low moisture → graded and packed.

Storage Advice

Store in a cool, dry airtight container. Seal tightly after opening. Ragi flakes absorb moisture quickly. Consume within 2 months of opening.
