About This Product

This is a poha-style sorghum flake product designed specifically for ready-to-cook breakfast use. The same jowar grain grown in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh on rain-fed dryland soil is used, but the flaking is done at a slightly thicker cut to mimic the traditional flat rice poha format. After cleaning and sun-drying, the grain is dehusked and roller-flaked to a flat poha shape. No frying, no oil coating, and no artificial additive is used. The flakes cook soft in two to three minutes like regular poha. They are suitable for direct use in savoury upma-style preparations and can be incorporated into breakfast mixes, snack blends, and cereal muesli products for the health food segment.

How It's Grown & Processed

Farming Method

Dryland rain-fed farming on black cotton and red soil in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. Low water crops. No synthetic fertilizers. Traditional sorghum cultivation is practiced with crop rotation.

Processing Method

Jowar grain cleaned → sun-dried → dehusked → roller-flaked to flat poha-style thickness → dried to low moisture → size-graded → packed in moisture-sealed bags.

Store in a cool, dry airtight container. Seal well after opening. Consume within 2 months. Keep away from humidity and strong odors.
