About This Product

Amaranth, called ramdana or rajgira, is a tiny, nutrient-dense grain that has been used in traditional Indian cooking for centuries, particularly during fasting periods and in festival preparations like laddoos and chikki. It is grown in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh on rain-fed soil using natural farming methods. After harvest, the grain is sun-dried, cleaned, and sorted by hand to remove impurities. No polishing or chemical treatment is applied. The grain is sold whole and unprocessed. Amaranth is naturally free from gluten, rich in complete plant protein, high in calcium, and contains lysine, an amino acid rare in most grain crops. It is used in puffed form, as flour, or cooked whole.

Farming Method

Rain-fed farming in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. No synthetic fertilizers. Grown by small farm families as a secondary crop. Traditional cultivation methods were maintained across generations.

Processing Method

Grain hand-harvested → sun-dried → cleaned and de-stoned → hand-sorted for purity → graded → moisture-sealed and packed per batch.

Storage Advice
