About This Product

This is the whole grain format of barnyard millet sourced from rain-fed hill farms in Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh. While the earlier jhangora listing focuses on the Uttarakhand hill variety and fasting use, this product also includes barnyard millet sourced from Chhattisgarh plains, where it is grown in rain-fed paddy-adjacent fields. Both sources produce an unpolished, whole grain that is naturally gluten-free and high in dietary fibre. The grain is hand-harvested or small-machine harvested, sun-dried, stone de-husked, and sorted before packing. No polishing or chemical treatment is used. It cooks soft and slightly sticky, similar to fine white rice, and is a good everyday grain option for health food retail.
