About This Product

Puffed ragi is produced by applying dry heat to clean, sun-dried finger millet grain until the individual grains expand and pop. No oil, no fat, and nothing else is added at any stage. The finger millet is sourced from rain-fed farms in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka where it has been grown for centuries. After harvest and sun-drying, the grain is cleaned, sorted for size uniformity, and puffed in a hot sand process. The resulting puffed grain is light, slightly crunchy, and retains the characteristic dark reddish-brown colour of ragi. It is widely used in ragi laddoos, energy bars, muesli blends, and kids' nutrition products where calcium content is a priority. Sensory Profile

How It's Grown & Processed

Farming Method

Rain-fed farming on red laterite soil in South India. No synthetic fertilisers or irrigation. Hand-harvested at peak maturity. Finger millet grown using traditional ancestral methods for over 4,000 years.

Processing Method

Ragi grain cleaned → sun-dried → sorted by size → puffed in hot sand without oil → expanded grain separated from sand → cooled → graded and packed in airtight conditions.

Storage Advice

Store in a cool, dry, airtight container. Seal immediately after opening. Humidity will soften puffed ragi quickly. Consume within 4 weeks of opening. Do not refrigerate.
